چکیده

Abstract Background The proximity of the maxillary sinus floor to molar roots increases probability oroantral communication on conducting any surgical or endodontic procedure in involved area. aim this study is evaluate relationship between each root and using cone beam computed tomography. Predicting protrusion into will consequently predict occurrence fistula a sample Egyptian population. Results total number located outside was 121 (35.3%), while those contacting were 80 (23.3%) intruded 141 (41.2%). percentage intrusion males (56.9%) significantly ( p = 0.01) higher than females (42.9%). left molars (54.2%) non-significantly 0.067) that right side (44.3%). As for type tooth, second showed highest (55.3%) followed by third (52.6%) then first (40.9). According root, mesiobuccal (50.9%) palatal (49.1%) distobuccal (47.4%). However, difference both tooth statistically non-significant 0.051 0.869 respectively). individual with intrusion, mesio-buccal most frequent intrude (71.4%) least (22.7%). Conclusions In population, exhibit females. are impact its compared root. Left at risk communications procedures other due sinus.

Evaluating the Distance between Posterior Teeth and the Maxillary Sinus Floor Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Background and Objectives The topography of the sinus floor and its relationship with maxillary teeth roots varies with age, pneumatization size and grade, positioning of the teeth, and Genetics. This study used cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to evaluate the distance between posterior teeth and the maxillary sinus floor in patients in Rafsanjan City, Iran. Materials and Methods This de...

The Association Between Maxillary Sinus Mucosal Thickening and Periapical Radiolucency Using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Scanning: A Retrospective Study

Introdouction: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning is a technological innovation developed in recent years with potential use in oral surgery and many other dental procedures. The aim of this study is to determine the maxillary sinus mucosal thickening in the maxillary premolar-molar area using the CBCT technique. Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, a total of 105 c...

Proximity of premolar roots to maxillary sinus: a radiographic survey using cone-beam computed tomography.

INTRODUCTION The proximity of the roots of the posterior maxillary teeth to the maxillary sinus is a constant challenge to the dental practitioner. Because the majority of studies have assessed the relationship regarding molars, the present study focused on premolars. METHODS Cone-beam computed tomographic images of 192 patients were reconstructed in sagittal, coronal, and axial planes to qua...

Assessing Maxillary Molar Furcation Involvement
by Cone Beam Computed Tomography.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the reproducibility of four parameters for quantitatively assessing maxillary molar furcation involvement (FI) by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). METHODS Thirty-nine sites with degree II FI, classified by probing of 21 maxillary molars, were investigated. Degrees of FI in these sites were assessed based on CBCT data. In these samples, four parameters for quantitati...
